On 7 May 2025, students at St Christopher’s School Bahrain, the Kingdom’s premier British-style international school, were treated to an unforgettable visit by endurance athlete, adventurer, and motivational speaker Louis Alexander.
Speaking to both Junior and Senior School students at our Saar and Isa Town campuses, Louis shared his remarkable journey, from promising young athlete to world record-holding explorer, and delivered a powerful message about resilience, purpose, and the importance of dreaming big.
Louis’s visit is part of St Christopher’s continued commitment to exposing students to real-world role models who embody our 6Cs; Courage, Commitment, Creativity, Compassion, Confidence and Curiosity. Addressing a captivated audience, Louis spoke about his motivation to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a deeply personal mission inspired by the loss of his grandfather, Captain Rick Taylor, who battled dementia for 17 years.
Driven by this purpose, Louis has completed extraordinary challenges: running marathons on all seven continents, swimming some of the world’s most iconic straits, and raising over £40,000 for charity. But it wasn’t just the scale of his accomplishments that moved the students, it was his vulnerability, focus, and belief that everyone can make a difference.
From the deserts of Morocco to the freezing landscapes of Antarctica, Louis described the physical and mental challenges behind each expedition, using his story to reinforce the importance of perseverance and goal-setting, themes that resonate strongly across our Junior and Senior Schools.
Students were encouraged to reflect on their own goals and were reminded that education is just the beginning of a journey shaped by character and commitment. Louis’s visit left a lasting impression, reinforcing St Christopher’s School’s mission to create role models for the future.
