Digital
Digital Learning aims to empower learners to participate meaningfully and safely when using technology in social, academic and economic situations.
It entails the development of the skills, knowledge and competencies of digital literacy so that technology can be easily used to locate, evaluate, create, collaborate on and communicate information effectively. Learners at St Christopher’s are exposed to a range of different technologies and their uses, including ‘Artificial Intelligence.’
This, in addition to engaging with the notions of digital leadership and digital responsibility, encourages the safe, healthy, responsible and respectful use of technology to improve our own lives and the circumstances of others.
Digital Learning enables us to:
- Use technology confidently and efficiently to interact and create digital content.
- Research effectively and be critical when selecting digital information on the basis of influence or purpose.
- Innovate and be creative in finding digital solutions to problems.
- Communicate and collaborate successfully using a variety of digital platforms including social media.
- Establish and positively manage relationships, both in the real and the digital world.
- Remain safe, build a positive digital identity and operate within legal, moral and ethical frameworks
The development of these competencies occurs throughout the curriculum both within our computing lessons and through the use of technology to support learning across the school. Students, parents and teachers engage in workshops related to a range of digital technology issues and students also have the opportunity to engage with technology through extra-curricular activities, and student leadership teams.

The House System
The Houses are named after birds of prey which are native to the Gulf region and synonymous with Arab culture. The Houses also have colours so that pupils are easily identified in events: Falcon (red), Kestrel (blue), Merlin (green) and Osprey (yellow) . Family members are placed in the same House as their siblings to ensure there is no family rivalry!

The Student Journey
We are fortunate to have world class facilities in which to learn and play, and our strive for continuous development means that we are always looking at ways of improving the learning experience for the children, whether through research-based practice, implementation of innovative teaching methods or the enhancement of our physical resources. We are a forward-thinking school which does not ‘sit still’.
