Wellbeing
At St Christopher’s School Bahrain, we are committed to creating an environment where students flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
Recognising that well-being is essential for success, we integrate it into every aspect of school life, ensuring that all members of our community feel valued, supported, and empowered.
Our core values of Caring, Honesty, and Mutual Respect guide our approach:
- Caring: We foster a culture where kindness, empathy, and compassion are paramount. By treating one another with respect, dignity, and understanding, we create a supportive and inclusive environment. Through acts of kindness and service, we ensure that every member of our community feels seen, valued, and supported.
- Honesty: Integrity lies at the heart of everything we do. We promote honesty, transparency, and accountability in all interactions, encouraging students to speak their truth with courage and fairness. By taking responsibility for their words and actions, students build trust and cultivate meaningful relationships grounded in respect and integrity.
- Mutual Respect: We celebrate diversity and embrace differences, recognising the inherent worth and dignity of every individual. By fostering open-mindedness, empathy, and understanding, we create an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and empowered to be themselves.
Comprehensive Care and Counselling Wellbeing at St Christopher’s is supported by robust procedures and a dedicated counselling team, ensuring that all students receive the guidance and support they need.
The wellbeing of students is the responsibility of all staff and integrates class teachers, subject specialists, teaching assistants, and phase leaders, who work collaboratively to identify and address students’ academic and personal needs.
Our highly qualified and experienced counselling team provides specialised support across all phases of the school. They work proactively with students, families, and staff to address emotional, social, and behavioural challenges, offering tailored interventions and promoting resilience and positive mental health. This comprehensive support network ensures that every student has access to the care they need to thrive.
Well-Being Framework Well-being is embedded into our curriculum, co-curricular programmes, and school events. We focus on nurturing key aspects of personal development:
- Balance: Encouraging students to adopt healthy habits, including prioritising sleep, nutrition, exercise, and mindful technology use, while fostering a sense of connection with nature and play.
- Resilience: Equipping students with the tools to overcome challenges and turn adversity into opportunities for growth, empowering them to face difficulties with confidence and optimism.
- Belonging: Building strong relationships within the school and wider community ensures students feel safe, valued, and connected.
- Self-Regulation: Teaching students to understand and manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, equipping them with strategies to respond effectively in different situations.
At St Christopher’s School Bahrain, we believe that well-being is a cornerstone of education. By fostering a culture of care, honesty, and mutual respect, we create an environment where students are prepared to succeed academically, grow personally, and contribute positively to their communities.

The House System
The Houses are named after birds of prey which are native to the Gulf region and synonymous with Arab culture. The Houses also have colours so that pupils are easily identified in events: Falcon (red), Kestrel (blue), Merlin (green) and Osprey (yellow) . Family members are placed in the same House as their siblings to ensure there is no family rivalry!

The Student Journey
We are fortunate to have world class facilities in which to learn and play, and our strive for continuous development means that we are always looking at ways of improving the learning experience for the children, whether through research-based practice, implementation of innovative teaching methods or the enhancement of our physical resources. We are a forward-thinking school which does not ‘sit still’.
