Junior School

Our Junior School provision centres around connecting all students to lead healthy active lifestyles and access as many sports as possible. We seek to provide opportunities for all to develop sound fundamental skills in a stimulating and safe environment. For the keenest and most able students there are opportunities to participate for the school whilst all students can embrace the challenges of competitive opportunities through a vibrant House system. This enables a united programme of character development teaching our youngest students the virtues of sport and how to cope with winning, losing and pressure in a safe and nurturing environment. |

 At St Chris, we focus on fostering a deep love of dance among our students, encouraging them to explore and grow their passion. We have some outstanding dedicated spaces with three dance studios throughout the school. The curriculum provision is linked to our SPARTA Dance Academy to ensure there is exposure and opportunity for all to discover the wonderful benefits of creativity, curiosity and commitment that Dance requires. Our specialist, talented and empathetic teachers deliver a diverse and robust programme to capture students’ imaginations. The keenest and most able can then explore their passion through our comprehensive Dance Academy, with opportunities to showcase their talents both within the Kingdom and internationally. Our Dance programme is targeted towards all ages from Nursery - Year 13 and for students of all abilities. Join us and experience the transformative power and joy of dance!
 Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the school played by both boys and girls throughout the year in the outstanding facilities of both the Junior and Senior Schools. The Senior School has 5 basketball courts, all with video analysis provision available to enable students to play and train all-year round. The provision is led by a dedicated and talented high-performance coach who ensures students are following the correct pathway and engaged in specific programmes relevant to meet their needs. Students are taught, both in the curriculum and through the sports provision with the keenest able to compete for both the school and the SPARTA Academy. The competitions happen within the Kingdom, around the Gulf region and on a wider international level as we seek to prepare students to compete beyond their school years in university and academy programmes.
 Athletics is a core sport at St Christopher’s. It is accessible for every child as we seek to produce physically literate young people confident to run, throw and jump at an early age and then develop the techniques and physicality to compete in track and field to the highest standards. Led by our High-Performance Track and Jumps coach our students get to train and compete daily on our 8-lane IAAF Athletics facility. The programme provides training for all through the curriculum programme and event specific training schedules throughout the week. Competitions are available for all through the structured House Athletics days, and for the more committed athletes as we host regular events and travel to compete around the region and internationally. We seek to prepare every student to be athletically confident to lead healthy lives and the most aspirational athletes to perform at the very highest level.
 Linking in with the Bahrain Cricket Association cricket is available for students to enjoy throughout the school, in both the Junior and Senior schools. Students can learn the basic fundamentals through the PE curriculum and then take their talents further through the ECA programme.
 Linking with the Royal Golf Club St Christopher’s students get the opportunity to practice at these world-class facilities and take part in tournaments around the Gulf region. One of the highlights of the sports year is the annual staff v students match. Golf is a sport enjoyed by many in the community.
 Linked to our SPARTA Academy students get to enjoy developing their skills across all the Artistic Gymnastic disciplines. The international coaches provide a pathway for everyone from nursery recreational students to those in the various competitive squads. Competitions across the Gulf region enable students to test themselves against the best in the region.
 The World Rugby approved senior pitch has enabled St Christopher’s students to enjoy playing rugby through the ECA provision in the Senior School. Students can train on a weekly basis and prepare for 7s tournaments around the region.
