Café 61 is developing into a truly bespoke community project. This St Chris experience has been crafted in the grounds of our Saar campus for parents, staff and students to enjoy.
Community collaborations played a big influence in this venture. And after hundreds of entries, ‘Café 61’ won the popular vote; with a nod to the School’s long standing history in the community.
Home-made, healthy snacks and drinks are created to reflect school life, and our healthy eating policies, with menus featuring locally sourced produce. Students are offered a snack box service, with delicious meal deliveries delivered in-time for break times, giving our parents a helping hand.
Community partnerships have seen the interior design created in collaboration with St Chris alumna, Maryam Adel Ali, and bespoke St Chris merchandise has been created in partnership with local craft suppliers.
Dine-in guests are welcomed into a space which encourages the pursuit of an eco-friendly, green lifestyle; living waste-free where possible. All reusable cups are welcome, and an extra incentive rewards people using St Chris branded cup with a 10% discount on hot and cold drinks.
Cafe 61 is exclusively open to members of the St Chris community. If you would like to visit, our opening hours are 07.00 - 16.00, Sunday - Thursday. Usual security procedures apply, you will need to show your parent pass at the gate. And members of the St Chris community will be welcome to sign in guests at Gate A.
Together with Café 61, a retail space has been provided with all your school merchandise available to purchase, including some exclusive new items.
Parents, students and staff are invited to browse through our collection, pick up their school related items or choose from a selected of locally crafted St Chris gifts to take home.
We are delighted to see this venue become a truly St Chris community hangout. And a comfortable place for parents to meet, staff to gather, and a safe place for children to play.
Our young musicians will be delighting audiences with pop up performances on the Café 61 stage. Parents are invited to enjoy their morning coffee and support some of our young Year 6 performers. This is a great way for the children to practice their stage presence, confidence and skill, we would love to see lots of our parents there to encourage their talents!
