St Christopher's School was alive with the sound of music on Monday, 3 June, as the Primary Music Department presented its annual Summer Concert — a spectacular celebration of musical achievement, creativity, and community.
Featuring approximately 250 students from Reception to Year 6, the concert highlighted the depth and vibrancy of the school’s world-class music programme. A packed audience of parents, staff, and fellow students filled the hall, eager to experience an evening of impressive performances by some of the school’s youngest musicians.
The concert featured a rich variety of ensembles, including the Reception to Year 6 Lahan Choirs, the ever-popular Boys Vocal Group, String Ensembles, Guitar Ensemble, Wind Band, Sax Trio, and Recorder Group. The wide-ranging repertoire kept listeners thoroughly engaged, from the calypso rhythms of Alan Menken’s Under the Sea to the powerful, contemporary sounds of Imagine Dragons’ Believer.
In a special highlight of the evening, several pieces were arranged by St Christopher’s talented music staff, adding a personal and creative touch to the performance. These bespoke arrangements were met with enthusiastic applause and demonstrated the school’s commitment to fostering both student and staff musicianship.
The concert highlighted that Music certainly is a thriving part of school life at St Christopher’s. The concert not only celebrated the technical and artistic growth of students over the past year, but also the joy and confidence that comes from making music together.
St Christopher’s School continues to stand out for its vibrant, world-class music department - a place where young talent is nurtured and celebrated.
