Scholarships

St Christopher’s is proud to offer an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Scholarship Programme; to recognise outstanding academic ability, while aiming to successfully prepare exceptional young people for the next stage in their lives.

These scholarships are for students who are currently in Year 11 of the British system or equivalent. Scholarships are awarded for the duration of the student’s time at St Christopher’s, subject to their continued outstanding performance and attitude to school. The School maintains the right to withdraw a scholarship at any time if behaviour, commitment and progress are not as expected from a scholarship student.

St Christopher’s Sixth Form students are able to thrive both academically and socially, going on to study for degree courses in some of the most prestigious universities around the world including Russell Group and Ivy League institutions.

The Scholarships may carry a fee reduction dependent upon academic ability and financial need. There might be instances where we award a St Christopher’s Scholarship without any fee reduction.

Scholarship candidates will benefit from St Christopher’s experienced specialist teachers, tutorial system, subject expertise and individual support, enabling students with exceptional academic ability to achieve their full potential, in an innovative, supportive and exciting learning environment.

Criteria

The following will be used to assess scholarship applications

  • Current academic performance and predicted grades. Typically, successful students will be expected to achieve grades A*A / 9-7 in all their GCSE examinations (or equivalent);
  • School Reports: which must be outstanding and, amongst other things, indicate high academic performance, excellent approaches to study and significant contributions to school life;
  • A reference from the current Head of School;
  • Students may be asked to sit additional assessments/standardised tests;
  • Two interviews: one with the Principal and one with a panel of senior staff;
  • A personal statement from the student of no more than 1 page of A4 stating why he or she should receive a scholarship.
