Delicious food, beautifully decorated tables, bouncing balloons------ was this the Ritz Carlton Friday brunch? No, it was the Year 6 History Day, an opportunity for the students to celebrate the end of their history unit, “Changes in Britain since the second world war.” Students, teachers and parents dressed in the costumes of their decade, resplendent in poodle skirts, flares, and leather jackets. Madonna look-a-likes boogied with spiky-haired punks, while leather-clad 50s boys strutted their stuff. While feasting on the goodies, the students were entertained by a selection of songs and dances from each decade. Feet were soon tapping and the revellers soon hit the dance floor. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all.
