Year 6 and Year 7 trip to Paris 23-30 April 2010

The Year 6 and Year 7 trip to Paris proved to be highly successful. A total of 33 students accompanied by Mrs Nassima Chebel, Mr John Roycroft, Mrs Marian Jenkins and Mr Steven Keeble, enjoyed a range of rich cultural, culinary and linguistic experiences in this architecturally beautiful capital city. The hotel was wonderfully located within a minute's walk of the imposing Eiffel Tower and the River Seine. The trip's highlights included visits to the Circus, Notre Dame, Montmartre, Sacre-Coeur, Versailles, the Louvre, the Opera, the Arc de Triomphe, La Grande Arche de la Defense and Eurodisney. In addition, the students enjoyed lunching in Parisian cafes, boating on the lake in the gardens of Versailles, travelling on the Metro and RER, cruising at dusk on one of the famous bateaux-mouches, walking along the embankments through the Tuileries Gardens and gasping at the breath-taking beauty of the spectacularly illuminated Eiffel Tower at night. Journals were kept, French was spoken and many new friendships forged. We are sure that the lure of a return visit to will prove irresistible to all.
