Year 5 Tudor Day 2011

What a day! Wednesday 16th November saw Henry VIII appear at St Christopher’s with his royal court. The Junior Hall was transformed into a banquet hall, fit for a king and wouldn’t have been out of place in Hampton Court Palace. Feasting, dancing and music ensued with much laughter and merriment. Children wore their finest Tudor outfits – they looked amazing!

Either side of the traditional Tudor feast the children took part in a game of strategy that tried to rewrite the historical battle of Bosworth. They also took part in a carousel of activities: drama and role play, an ICT website challenge and making pomanders.

The children and staff had a great day and would like to extend their thanks to all of the parent helpers who freely volunteered their time to make the day such a huge success. Roll on Aztec Day!!
