On Monday 4th October, 20 Year 5 girls attended trials for the school netball team. An explanation took place about what was expected from them and how the selection process would work.
The girls were split into teams and played for 45 minutes, showing off their skills of throwing, catching, intercepting, footwork, marking and of course, shooting.
There was a range of ability, from students who play regularly outside of school to complete beginners. It was good to see everyone having a go, and some beginners demonstrated real potential.
On Wednesday 6th October, 33 Year 6 girls also attended trials, hoping for a place on the school team.
Out of the 53 girls who took part, it was decided that 21 places would be offered. It was a very hard decision by Mrs Lodwig and her assistant coach Mrs Calder. Deliberations went on long after school hours, but here are the lucky selected team who will start training on Wednesday 13th October.
