Welcome to the Year 3 pages! The Year 3 activity street is the vibrant heart of the year group. It can be accessed from each of the Year 3 classrooms. Here, learning support teachers or teaching assistants are able to work with small groups of children. Volunteer parents come in to listen to groups read or support art and craft activities. Information and displays about the topics that are being covered adorn the walls and even the ceilings. A raised area at one end of the street is used as an impromptu stage for the children to engage in speaking and listening activities.
Among the key events that take place in Year 3 are Ancient Egypt day in Term One, when the whole year group dress up and take part in topic-related activities during the course of the day. Year 3 also perform in their own full scale production, with every child taking on a role be it small or large. Term 3 takes on a Roman theme with a Roman feast and even a Roman battle!
