Year 1 Victorian Day

What a great success Victorian Day was. The children arrived in Victorian attire ranging from those belonging to wealthy families to those that worked as chimney sweeps or down the mines. The children had an opportunity to spend time in a Victorian classroom – an experience that not many of them will want to repeat. Mr Churchill managed to break the cane but luckily not whilst using it on a child! We had a visit from a very special nurse (Nurse Sandy as Florence Nightingale) who talked to the children about hospitals in Victorian times. The children had fun making spinning toys that Victorian children would have played with, completing quizzes and learning more about Victorian times.
