Year 1 Victorian Day

What a fantastic time our children had on Victorian Day.

Everyone came attired in Victorian clothing, teachers and children alike. It was super to see the effort everyone made to make the day such a special one. The children had a fun-filled day playing a range of Victorian games, making Punch and Judy shows, thaumatropes and flicker books, along with a visit from, and learning all about, Florence Nightingale.

The children in Year 1 also spent a lesson in our Victorian classroom where they soon realised that Victorian life wasn’t all fun! They were all given Victorian names and experienced the old fashioned way of teaching. I don’t think anyone would like to be taught like that today!
