Many thanks to all the teachers and pupils large and small who so enthusiastically took part in our fun filled day of Maths!
The Mathemagician opened the proceedings with a rousing assembly where he proved he really was mathematical and magical and there was even time for a maths song!
Later on the children teamed up with children from another year and toured the stalls that were set up around the school: guessing the weight of the year four teachers; estimating how many marbles were in the jar, predicting the amount of sweets that would equal 100g and generally talking and sharing maths.
All of this mathematical brain strain was broken up by a lovely Maths Buffet – full respect to the mums and dads who provided challenges and food for the day!
Some of the Infants then had the chance to follow a trail around the school and were amazed that maths was everywhere…..
The Juniors meanwhile were locked in a competition that tested their wits and their maths skills….
Overall a great day and I have been delighted to see Nursery children clutching rulers and Year Fives trying to solve the Rubik’s Cube…..
Thanks to everyone for being so positive and enjoying the fun!
