Due to the age of the students, in the senior school swimming is taught within segregated lessons - boys and girls separately. This obviously affects the time all students can use the pool. The following opportunities for swimming are in place at the senior school:
- Year 7, 8 and 9 receive 2 x 4 week blocks of swimming, one block in the autumn term and one block in the summer term.
- Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 are given the opportunity to choose swimming and/or water polo sessions
- An annual inter-house gala is provided
- Any student can enter the whole school swimming championships
- GCSE students study life saving/ swimming and water polo
- Girls learn to swim morning sessions for provided
- The Dream Mile Club is aimed at endurance swimmers of any age or fitness to try to swim for 1.6 km
- Swim Squad training for those swimmers accepted into the school swimming team
- Girls swim for fitness sessions
In the senior school the students receive one PE lesson of 1 hour and 20 minutes per week.
