Sticky Fun in Year Two

In order to make the learning relevant to our children we often make certain that they have an emotional attachment to the learning. Nowhere was this more obvious than in our recent Big Writing preparation. The children were required to write a set of instructions, using bossy verbs (imperatives) headings, sub headings, bullet points and golden sentences. We thought why not write a set of instructions for making an ice-cream sundae? The children enjoyed making their sundaes and had remembered every stage of the process, the following morning, when they were to write their instructions.
