Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition- Cyprus

During the half term break 40 students and 6 staff members headed to Cyprus for the Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition. The students completed a gruelling 48 km trek over mountainous terrain and also had to contend with some typical Cypriot winter weather. After completing more than 20km on the first day with full packs they camped on a remote beach. Their reward was a night of heavy rain which continued into the next morning. However, all groups persevered and after camping at the Baths of Aphrodite on their second night the groups eventually reached the warmth and welcoming hospitality of the Environmental Centre in the village of Kritou Terra. Congratulations to all Silver Award participants and many thanks to those staff members who accompanied the expedition.
