The
Art Department offers a unique opportunity
to students in Bahrain to study Art at the
highest level. The department has an outstanding
record of success at public examination level
and many of our students have left the school
to continue their art education at prestigious
colleges around the world. Great emphasis
is placed on academic enquiry and rigorous
investigation particularly with examination
classes. There has always been a strong tradition
of painting and drawing at the school and
these skills underpin all the work.
The
studio space is very generous with a large
open plan area, which is divided into three
main teaching areas. There is also space for
6th form independent study, printmaking, a
ceramics and plaster preparation area and
an IT suite. The well-qualified staff offer
specialist knowledge and expertise in all
areas.
KS3:
over the first three years students are taken
through a journey of experience by the teachers
on courses that explore the visual language
of Colour, Line, Tone, Texture, Shape, Form
and Surface Pattern. KS4: Follows the Edexcel
unendorsed syllabus. Post 16: Edexcel AS and
A2
