Senior UK Maths Challenge

On 4th November 84 students from Years 12 and 13 participated in the UK Maths Challenge. We are awaiting the results but here are some of the questions for you to try. Calculators are not allowed.

1.What is the smallest possible value of 20p +10q + r when p, q and r are different positive integers?
A- 31       B- 43        C- 53        D- 63       E- 2010

2.The year 2010 is one in which the sum of its digits is a factor of the year itself. How many more years will it be before this is next the case

A- 3         B- 6         C- 9          D- 12          E- 15

3.How many two – digit numbers have remainder 1 when divided by 3 and remainder 2 when divided by 4?
