Reception Sports Day

The cold weather added to the excitement for the Reception children this year at their annual Sports Day. As they entered the Sports Hall a big cheer went out from the parents. The big smiles on the children’s faces showed all the excitement that was to come.
With everyone in position at their first activity, the whistle blew to signal the start of this fun event. While Sports Day for Reception is not a competitive event, this age group love to know how many points and goals they have scored. The Year 6 House Captains were FANTASTIC at encouraging the children to shoot, throw and kick with accuracy. They then boosted their excitement by telling them how many points they scored before they moved to their next activity.
When everyone had had their turn, it was the turn of the parents! With Sports Day being held indoors this year, there was no chance for the much anticipated Mums and Dads race! However, we couldn’t let them get away with nothing so we invited all parents to go to the activity their child was at and have a go. It was great fun to see the Mums and Dads doing the sack race, bouncing on the space hoppers and bowling the skittles over. Luckily no one got stuck in the obstacle course tunnel!
Well done to all the Year 6 House Captains who kept the atmosphere exciting and a big well done to all the Reception children, staff and parents who made this a very exciting day for Reception!
