Prize Day 2011

Prize Day for students in Years 8 to 12 was held on Wednesday 22 June in the Saar Auditorium. The Guest of Honour was His Excellency, Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr Jamie Bowden, who was joined on stage by the Principal of St Christopher's School, Mr Ed Goodwin, Head of Senior School, Mr Nick Wilson, Head of Junior School, Mrs Wendy Bataineh, Head of Infant School, Mr Ian Fellows, Head Girl, Sophie Appleton and Head Boy, Aditya Sarkar. Following the welcome address from Mr Wilson, the audience of approximately six hundred students, parents and teachers enjoyed two highly polished and beautiful musical performances. Sisters Aliisa Lee, Year 12, and Amalia Lee, Year 9, sang For Good by Stephen Schwarz accompanied by Mr Ken Haggarty, Head of Music, and Raoul D'Souza, Year 7, played Hungarian Dance No 1 by Brahms accompanied by Mrs D'Souza. Both performances were greeted with rapturous applause. Following the Ambassador's address, Prizes were presented to students in Years 8 and 9 by Mr Goodwin and to students in Years 10, 11 and 12 by Mr Bowden. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Head Girl and Head Boy and was followed by Mr Goodwin's closing remarks. As refreshments were served, formal photographs of Prize Winners were taken.
