The Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards Evening was held on Tuesday 4 January in the Saar Auditorium. The ceremony, which was attended by three hundred students and their families, was opened by welcome addresses from the Principal, Mr Ed Goodwin, and Mrs Sonia Carr, Regional Academic Director, Edexcel International. The opening addresses were followed by a delightful performance of Canon in D by Pachelbel by the Senior String Ensemble. GCSE Medals and GCSE Certificates were presented to eighty students by Mrs Carr, assisted by Mrs Hilary Rowark, Assistant Head Teacher and Mr Paul Inskip, Head of Year 11. A Level Medals and A Level and IB Certificates were presented to thirty three students by Mrs Carr, assisted by Mr Stephen Martin, Assistant Head Teacher and Ms Louise Brown, Head of Year 13. The Alumni speech was made by Miss Annika Pathmanathan who is currently studying Business and Business Administration at the Ross School of Business, The University of Michigan. The closing address was made by Mr Nick Wilson, Head Teacher. The ceremony closed with refreshments and formal photographs.
