Welcome to Year 4

Janet Ingham

Year 4 Year Leader

Year 4 at St Christopher’s is a happy and purposeful place to learn and the pupils’ sense of pride in their school is reflected in their confidence and self-esteem. Our learners enjoy a sense of personal achievement, which is celebrated by all.

In Year 4, we ensure that the delivery of our curriculum is exciting, varied and accessible. This means that our pupils look forward to every lesson. Every child’s potential is realised and those with particular areas of academic strength are appropriately stretched. Pupils work predominantly with their class teacher and receive specialist teaching in native or non-native Arabic, French, DT, Art, Music and PE and swimming.  In addition, all the classes have timetabled lessons in a fully equipped ICT suite.

Pupils in Year 4 are fortunate to be able to participate in the Year 4 Challenge Award. Pupils can undertake a new skill or project at home for a minimum of 6 weeks and receive a certificate for their effort.

Topic themes include: The RainforestTraditional Crafts of Bahrain, and the Ancient Greeks.

Our Year 4 pupils take an active part in community service projects and make and sell traditional handicrafts to raise money for charity. Our Year 4 pupils contribute to fund raising opportunities throughout the year as part of our “Go Global united world school’s” school building a school project in Cambodia.

Highlights of the year include experiencing a Rainforest Day and a Greek Day. Trips to Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre and The Bahrain National Museum enhance the curriculum further. During the year, all Year 4 pupils are involved in a Year Group production.
