National Costume Day

The Spring Term came to close with our wonderful National Costume Day celebration! All the children and staff wore clothes and costumes which represented their chosen country, and paraded around the school to an admiring crowd made up of mums, dads, grandparents and family friends!

A vast array of international foods was provided by our army of parent helpers, who transformed the sports hall into a top quality food court. Children were issued with their very own St Christopher’s passport, and they ‘travelled the world’ (the school) collecting stamps from individual country stalls, manned again by our outstanding parent volunteers.

Each stall provided a range of activities and information about the cultural heritage of their country. From falcons, to perfume making, May Poles to hockey games, all the country stalls were excellent! The Infant Hall was the location for the cultural performances which this year included Russian and Irish folk dancing, Brazilian Capoeria and many others. Not forgetting the New Zealand Haka performance lead by our very own Mr Mannings!

Over 1,500 BD was raised by the Infant and Junior School on National Costume Day! Thank you very much, this money will go into the FOSC fund to further benefit the teaching and learning at St Christopher’s.
