Year 3 have been learning how to dodge, defend and attack through benchball lessons. They are proving that if there’s space to be found, they will sprint into it to receive the ball! They will find that these important skills are transferable into all areas of sport.
Year 4 have been using their previous knowledge of benchball and using those skills to play and understand the game of netball. They have shown they can chest pass and bounce pass their way, using their team in each of the thirds of the court.
Year 5 have been transferring their skills further still and have put their knowledge into action in the form of basketball. Having developed the skills of dribbling and shooting, they have shown an increasing understanding of the game.
Year 6 have taken to racket sports with enthusiasm.
Their learning objective for the year is to prepare for Year 7 PE. They have been learning the rules and skills involved in badminton and are working to ensure they become autonomous learners. They are masters at setting up the equipment safely and can play and score the game to the correct rules.
Keep up the good work everyone!
