The PE department at St Christopher’s consists of 3 full time specialist teachers, 1 full time swimming coach and 6 part time swimming teachers. The teachers in our department teach from reception right the way through to year 6.

Our aim is to provide an environment where all pupils can develop their physical, emotional, social, intellectual and creative potential in a fun and challenging way.

Successes and competitions
We are a very successful department! In recent years we have won The Dubai Unity Cup (football), The BSME Games, BSME swimming championships and the Bahrain Indoor football competition. Each year we enter various competitions in a wide variety of sports around the gulf, competing against many other Schools. We also play matches against local schools and occasionally the St Christopher’s Year 7 teams.

Sports days are held every year. Up to Year 1 these are non-competitive. From Year 2 upwards, children compete in their house teams, earning points for their house and hoping to win the coveted House Cup.

Facilities
We have amazing facilities that include 2 sports hall, a 25m swimming pool, a Tiger-Turf football and hockey pitch, 2 netball courts, 4 basketball courts and a wide array of equipment and apparatus.
