In Mathematical Development we aim to
cover important aspects of mathematical
understanding and provide the solid
foundation on which to further develop
mathematical concepts. |

more similarities or differences

- initially 1-10 then progressing
to 20 and beyond, adding &
subtracting including a firm grounding
in the related vocabulary

Shape
& Space - 2d and 3d shapes,
symmetry and tesselation

Comparing
measures

Pattern
- sound, movement & visual
patterns using 2 or more variables

| A sound understanding
of these basic concepts is fostered
through a wide variety of practical
activities both directed and independent.
Number work also includes number rhymes
and songs, jigsaws and utilising all
opportunities for counting throughout
the School day. |
