On Monday 11 April 2011, the IB Visual Arts Exhibition was formally opened by our Guest of Honour, Mrs Hayfa Aljishi, Managing Director and Curator of Albareh Gallery, following a private viewing with the Principal, Mr Ed Goodwin, the Head Teacher, Mr Nick Wilson, the Head of Art, Ms Paula Carr, Year 13 IB Visual Arts Teacher, Ms Clare Hunt, Art Teacher, Joe Mulleague, Art Technician, Mrs Nadia Shaheen and the six IB Visual Arts students: Dana Al Ajaji, Virena Behere, Hadiel Mohilldean, Neha Menon, Lenore Ramirez and Zaliqa Rosli. The Exhibition celebrates the artwork of these highly talented artists and is the culmination of two years of hard work and endeavour. The themes ranged from animal welfare, feminine identity, gender roles, addiction, human migration, enthalpy and the force of nature. In his address, Mr Nick Wilson congratulated all the students and staff on their wonderful achievements, emphasising his appreciation of the contribution of Ms Clare Hunt, in particular, who had developed and nurtured the creative energy and drive in her students throughout the two year course. The Exhibition is open to the public on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 April 2011 by appointment.
