IB Students and UCAS for UK Universities

The IB results will be released on 6 July 2011 at 15:30 Bahrain time. 

 If you have met the terms of your Firm or Insurance offer through UCAS then your status will change through Track

If you have not met the terms of your Firm OR Insurance offer, three things can happen:

1. You can call the university and ask if they will accept you with your lower points
2. Your university may wait until 18th August (A-Level Results' Day) before giving you a decision Your universities may decline your application
3. If so you can enter CLEARING through UCAS track mid July You can only enter Clearing if both universities have declined an offer of a place through UCAS Track.

IB Re-Marks

• IB offers a re-mark service but it is very unusual for a grade to change. You need to think very carefully before requesting a re-mark
• GRADES CAN GO DOWN AS WELL AS UP AND THIS CAN MEAN THAT THE DIPLOMA MAY NOT BE AWARDED
• If you decide that you do wish to go ahead with a re-mark the letter can be found here. The St Chris deadline for submitting re-marks during the Summer Break is Thursday 27 July 2011. The absolute IB deadline is 15 September 2011. Clearly you will want to make this decision very soon after issue of results.

Important Points

The form must be completed and payment must be made to Mrs Al Otaibi before Thursday 27 July 2011. Mrs Al Otaibi can be contacted on

1. The re-mark can take several weeks
2. When the result of the re-mark is received I will email you with the outcome
