Following a competitive selection process, three students, Amal Ahmed, Ellis Cowling and Raif Keeble, who are currently studying GCSE German in Year 10, were awarded Goethe Institute Scholarships to attend a three week intensive German language course in Dresden, Germany as part of the initiative "Schools: Partners for the Future" (PASCH). The Goethe Institute has organised international youth PASCH courses for high school students from PASCH schools from around the world since their inception in July 2008. During the three-week course, participants are afforded the unique experience of learning German in an international learning community. Participants enjoy a range of linguistic and cultural opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of modern day Germany, network with other German learners of German partner schools and students who participate as student interns in the summer youth courses. The students will leave Bahrain for Frankfurt and then Dresden on Sunday 10 July. We wish them Gute Reise and look forward to the accounts of their experiences and adventures on their return to Bahrain on Saturday 30 July.
