Book Day was celebrated in style at St Christopher’s Infant and Junior Schools when everybody, children and staff - dressed as book characters! It all began with a Big Read on the Tiger Turf four infant year groups gathered to be entertained, listening to stories read by some very strange looking characters indeed!
As the morning continued, Junior children completed a book quiz and enjoyed sharing their presentations they had worked so hard on. Infant children attended reading sessions in the library, with musical accompaniment, and many designed book covers, reading posters and used role play to celebrate the magical world of books and the characters within them. Assemblies were also held across the school, where Infants were informed of the winners of their bookmark competition and were treated to a reading of ‘Burglar Bill’ by the main character himself, and juniors enjoyed a Harry Potter sketch and question session.
A great day was had by all, with all the children hopefully taking away ideas for their next read!
