On the weekend of October 16, the first ever British Schools in the Middle East Music Camp was held at St Christopher’s School, Bahrain.
80 students from 9 schools from Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Doha and Bahrain gathered together to celebrate a weekend of music and fun here in Bahrain.
All the students participated in an Orchestra, a choir and various ensembles which included a brass group, flute choir, woodwind ensemble, clarinet and saxophone ensemble and a string ensemble. Much of each day was devoted to rehearsing for the final concert, but students also had time to visit the Bahrain Fort and take part in a hugely exciting scavenger hunt organised by St Christopher’s School and enjoy a BBQ on the Friday evening.
Members of staff from all the visiting schools joined together to lead the weekend and produce the final concert which showcased music performed by each group and ended with a much enjoyed performance of “Harry Potter” played by the orchestra.
The students returned tired but exhilarated by the weekend to their respective countries on the Saturday evening.
