IB Students and UCAS for UK Universities

The IB results will be released on Saturday 6 July 2013 at 15:30 Bahrain time.

If you have met the terms of your Firm or Insurance offer through UCAS then your status will change through Track

If you have not met the terms of your Firm OR Insurance offer, three things can happen:

1. You can call the university and ask if they will accept you with your lower points

2. Your university may wait until Thursday 15 August (A Level Results Day) before giving you a decision or your universities may decline your application

3. If so you can enter CLEARING through UCAS track mid July. You can only enter Clearing if both universities have declined an offer of a place through UCAS Track.

IB Re-Marks

IB offers a re-mark service but it is very unusual for a grade to change. You need to think very carefully before requesting a re-mark

GRADES CAN GO DOWN AS WELL AS UP AND THIS CAN MEAN THAT THE DIPLOMA MAY NOT BE AWARDED

If you decide that you do wish to go ahead with a re-mark the letter can be found here. The St Chris deadline for submitting re-marks during the Summer Break is Thursday 18 July. The absolute IB deadline is 15 September 2013. Clearly you will want to make this decision very soon after the issue of your results.

Important Points

The form can be found here and must be completed and payment must be made by contacting Ms Smith as follows:-

She will email me once you have submitted your completed form and payment, and I will enter the re-mark request.

To ensure security, no results will be issued by telephone without the candidate’s examination number being given.

If you have not met the terms of your Firm OR Insurance offer, two things can happen:

1. You can call ( not email) the university admissions office and ask if they will accept you with your lower grades.

2. If both universities decline your application, you can enter CLEARING through UCAS track on August 16 or later. You can only enter Clearing if both universities have declined an offer of a place through UCAS Track.

• The Year 1 Gala will be on Tuesday 12 June
• The Year 2 Gala will be on Wednesday 13 June
• Both events will take place at the school pool
• Both events will start at 8.10am and finish at approximately 9.10am

Art 2012 celebrates the work of 60 St Christopher’s GCSE and A Level ART students. Students have experimented with a diverse range of media and explored an array of themes. The exhibition will be open to friends, parents and the public from 8.10 - 2.30 and will take place in the Art Studio and EX2 (Maths corridor).
